BIO / : Samantha Neugebauer is the author of the forthcoming short story collection Villains (WWPH, January 2027) and a lecturer at N.Y.U. in Washington, D.C. She also serves as a senior editor at Painted Bride Quarterly. Originally from Philadelphia, Samantha holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, and N.Y.U.’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. In the recent past, Samantha taught at Johns Hopkins, N.Y.U. in Abu Dhabi, and amassed nearly a decade of experience working abroad in the UAE, Germany, Italy, England, China, Greece, and elsewhere, including a recent position as a research assistant at Georgetown University/Georgetown University in Qatar. Her current novel manuscript, which she completed at the Hawthornden Residency in Scotland during summer 2025, was chosen as the 2024 runner-up for the Marianne Russo Award.
